WHO WE ARE
We would like to have an optimal mixture of loyal sustaning members with the following characteristics: A mixture of youth, middle-age and senior members -- male and female, who have an interest in discovering, recording and enjoying the culture that derives from the period preceding the establishment of the Presidio de San Agustín del Tucsón, the period before and during the Spanish and Mexican sovereignty in this region, and tracking the grenerations that followed through to today.
We want people who will contribute their time, their interests and resources to advancing our mutual goals. We need your financial support as well as your active participation. Won't you join us and work with us to help with the preservation of our past for our children of the future.
WHAT WE DO
To accomplish our mission, we shall support the preservation
of Arizona and Sonora family histories;
Encourge members of pioneer families to research their family histories;
Find volunteers to record oral family histories of older members in the community;
Support the donation of pictures, documents and artifacts to a historical preservation organization for future gernerations to enjoy;
Promote the preservation, restoration of historical monuments and sites including the downtown
Spanish/Mexican Royal Presidio de San Agustín del Tucsón;
Participate in the hispanic art, architecture, literature and cultural events which will preserve the history and integrity of the region.
Support and participate in Founder's Day/Tucson's annual Birthday Gala/Fiesta in the month of August.
